Dr.
Wright’s career began with an academic and research focus in the areas of
prenatal diagnosis and preterm birth. He
has held academic appointments at The University of Texas and The University of
North Carolina. Dr. Wright began
practicing Maternal Fetal Medicine in Wilmington in 1990. In 1992, he became the first board certified
MFM specialist to practice in southeastern North Carolina. After a stint on the faculty of the Area
Health Education Center and another in solo private practice, Dr. Wright joined
Glen Meade Center for Women’s Health in 2010. Dr. Wright’s practice is limited to Maternal
Fetal Medicine, the subspecialty of Ob/Gyn dealing with high risk
pregnancies. He sees patients from Glen
Meade Center for Women’s Health as well as patients referred from throughout
southeastern North Carolina. Dr. Wright
spends his nonworking hours with his wife and four children.
